Our primary focus is to expand accessibility to legal services by offering affordable and low-cost assistance to individuals who fall within the gap of not qualifying for pro bono legal services yet cannot afford to hire a private attorney to navigate the intricate and daunting legal system. Even in uncertain times, SALC makes an impact in the community and sees clients in-person or via virtual means to make sure that they are receiving the support they need.

SALC Attorney Connie Lukes never met her client Carla in person. Carla sought help from SALC in March 2020, just as the Covid-19 crisis was unfolding. Connie and Carla's only contact was via E-Mail and phone and yet Carla was able to receive the support she needed for herself and her daughters.

Carla tells us, “From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you.
